Game Jam date announced! Student participants needed!
Take part in the Department of Computing’s first ever Game Jam!

31st May 2016, Creative Edge.

We’re looking for 18 students who are interested in games to spend a couple of hours helping us in generating ideas for some educational games.

What is a Game Jam?
A game jam is a gathering of games enthusiasts who come together to discuss, plan, design, and create games within a short period of time.

At the Game Jam we will be discussing:
  • What are the most popular games amongst your peers today?
  • Why do you think these are popular?
  • Which platform (hardware software) do you use?
  • Do you play games alone or with someone else?
And also spending some time in groups to generate new games ideas.

Prizes will be on offer for the best concept and all students taking part will get a Game Jam t-shirt as a memento!

To take part email michael.banford@edgehill.ac.uk just expressing your interest. The first 18 students will be picked so don't delay!

To address the growing threat of cyber-attacks across the UK, the Higher Education Academy (HEA) has worked with the Department for Culture, Media and Sports (DCMS) to grant Edge Hill University more than £39,000 to improve cyber security teaching and learning.

Recent global studies indicate that while various universities offer courses related to cyber security, there remains a serious shortage of cyber security professionals to meet the demand of this rapidly growing sector.
